Though the death toll is still unknown from today’s early
morning alleged terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C.,
the damage is all too clear:

“¢bull;A jumbo jet plane crashed into the Pentagon

“¢bull; Both World Trade Center Towers have collapsed after
hijacked planes hit both

“¢bull; Both of the aircraft that slammed into the Trade Center
buildings were American Airlines flights, one of them ““
American Airlines Flight 11 departed earlier in the day from Boston
Logan and was en route to the Los Angeles International
Airport.

“¢bull;United Airlines Flight 175, headed for San Francisco from
New Jersey, also crashed just south of Pittsburgh.

“¢bull;Hospitals in New York are overwhelmed with people being
brought in.Ӣbull;Subway stations have been shut down in the New
York and Washington area, and most phone lines are down.

“¢bull; The West Wing of the White House has been evacuated.

“¢bull; The Sears Tower in Chicago has been evacuated.

“¢bull; All flights headed to Washington and New York airports
that were already in the air when the first crashes occurred
Tuesday morning were diverted to Canadian airports.

“¢bull; All air traffic across the nation has stopped.

“¢bull; The U.S.-Mexican border has been sealed.

“¢bull;Gov. Gray Davis has had state buildings closed and has
ordered all nonessential employees home. Employees at the state
capitol in Sacramento were told to leave the building just before 9
a.m. PST.

claimed responsibility for the bombing and speculation continues as
to its perpetrator. But at least one U.S. Security official has
named Osama Bin Laden and his regime as the likely suspect behind
these attacks.

All other federal buildings nationwide are also being evacuated.
U.S. President George W. Bush, who was in Florida at the time of
the attack, said the United States will not stand for terrorist
attacks.

At 9:30 PST, CNN reported that
the president was aboard Air Force One in the air, but would not
return to Washington.
