Less than a year after reaching the NCAA Championship game,
Stanford is in an unfamiliar position ““ last place. The No. 8
Washington Huskies was the latest team to defeat the beleaguered
Cardinal, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Seattle in Husky Soccer Field.
Will Flanagan’s first goal of the season
came in the 43rd minute and was the lone goal of the game as

second goal a minute later, but Casey
Armstrong’s shot caromed off the crossbar. Stanford
will look to rejuvenate its season when it takes on No. 1 UCLA on
Sunday in a rematch of the past season’s NCAA final.

ninth goal of the season as the Beavers won their third-straight
conference game, upsetting No. 22 Cal on Sunday. Gordon, who also

State (9-4, 3-1 Pac-10) all-time points list with 55.
CAL 1, WASHINGTON 1: Pieter Berger scored a
goal in the 58th minute as the Bears came from behind to tie the
Huskies on Friday night at Berkeley’s Goldman Field.
