Pac-10 releases men’s basketball television
schedule; UCLA to appear 22 times

The Pac-10 men’s basketball television schedule was
released Tuesday, and 59 games will be televised on FOX Sports Net,
CBS, ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 either nationally or regionally.

UCLA will be televised 16 times under the Pac-10 television
package, and six more games will be televised locally on Fox Sports
Net West 2, for a total of 22 televised games out of the 27 on its
schedule.

“We have worked with FOX Sports Net to provide some
attractive matchups that the Pac-10 fans will surely enjoy through
the course of the 2003-04 season,” Pac-10 commissioner Tom
Hansen said in a press release.

“In addition, Pac-10 teams have scheduled challenging
intersectional nonconference contests that will earn national
exposure through the networks and cable outlets.”

The first televised game involving a Pac-10 team will be Arizona
at Florida, Nov. 28 on ESPN2.

The first televised UCLA game will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov.
29, at home against Vermont on FOX Sports Net West 2 at 5 p.m.

All seven Pac-10 tournament games will be televised, with the
first six on FOX Sports Net and the championship game on CBS.

ALUMNI NEWS: The Miami Dolphins signed former
Bruin long snapper Jeff Grau on Tuesday to replace
Sean McDermott, who was released.

Grau spent all of last season with the Dallas Cowboys. He was
then traded to Tampa Bay but released in August.

MEN’S SOCCER: Oregon State freshman
midfielder Carlos Cornejo was named Pac-10
Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 6-13 on Tuesday.

Cornejo scored game-winning goals in both Beaver victories at
Stanford and California.

Also nominated for the award were UCLA’s Matt
Taylor
and Washington’s Will
Flanagan.

WOMEN’S SOCCER: Arizona State senior defender Amy
LePeilbet
was named Pac-10 Women’s Soccer Player of
the Week for Oct. 6-13 on Tuesday.

LePeilbet scored her team’s game-winning goal against
Stanford.

Also nominated for the award were UCLA’s Iris
Mora,
Cal’s Katie Ratican,
Oregon’s Mele French, Oregon State’s
Tessa Baker and Stanford’s Allyson
Marquand.
