Speaks out

Should U.S. forces remain in Iraq, considering the recent
guerrilla warfare? Sonja Anderson

First-year, Microbiology, immunology

and molecular genetics
“I think we should have thought about all of this before we
started the war. We had no reason to go to Iraq and people should
have realized that a long time ago. We should now get more involved
through the United Nations.”

Jerel Calzo

Fourth-year, English and psychology
“I think we should have pulled out a long time ago. The point
of the war was to free the people and find weapons of mass
destruction. We did not find any weapons of mass destruction and
the people are free. I think we are staying there for political
advantage.”

Tony Olavarria

Third-year, English
“I think that we should catch the people who are involved in
terrorism wherever they are. We should try to get international
support and finish what we started.”

Yong Oh

Eighth-year, East Asian studies
“Right now we are committed to something that we should not
pull out of. Even with the situation being as bad as it is, we
should try to persevere.”

Michael Sheridan

Third-year, Ethnomusicology
“Considering that I was opposed to the war in the first
place, I think that we should get out of there as fast as we
can.”
