No protest doesn’t mean no problem
The article “Controversial cartoons yield calm
discussion” (News, March 13) presents the event, organized by
the student group L.O.G.I.C., as going well, given that there were
no protests.
Just because the Muslim students chose a different approach from
that of UC Irvine protestors, instead trying to disregard
L.O.G.I.C.’s presentation, does not mean the event went
well.
The debate had three panelists for the cartoons, and only one
against them.
The bias was apparent when panelists condemned anti-Semitic
cartoons, while giving the OK for cartoons that potentially
offended 1.4 billion Muslims.
