Recent UCLA fine arts graduate students Nathan Ward and Sam Bivins adopted the characters “LAguylovesLA” and “DJ Just Press Play” respectively to form their ironically subversive, alternative band called “Iconic Splendor,” which was featured in the Hammer Museum’s annual Arts Party last night. Bivins, in character as DJ Just Press Play, discusses the conception of Iconic Splendor and their inspirations.
