BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is closing its Westwood location July 2.

According to a notice posted on the BJ’s website, the Broxton Avenue restaurant – which has been open since 1996 and serves Chicago style pizzas and pizookies – will close in early July. The chain will attempt to relocate staff members to its other locations in Los Angeles, according to an email sent to some BJ’s customers.

“After 28 years in Westwood Village, we have made the difficult decision to close our Westwood location on July 2, 2024,” BJ’s said in the email.

Although the Daily Bruin was unable to confirm the reason for the closure, the chain saw a decrease in first quarter revenue in 2024 compared to 2023, according to its first fiscal quarter results. Three other BJs locations also closed in 2023, according to the U.S. Sun

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
