As of 7:59 a.m., over 100 people – including AFSCME Local 3299 union members and supporting students – began gathering to picket at Bruin Plaza. The labor union is demanding change after alleging that the UC engaged in bad-faith bargaining. The union said the University unilaterally increased workers’ health insurance costs without notice or negotiation.
