The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is using water tankers to supply resources to firefighters ahead of forecasted high winds, the department said in a 6:13 p.m. press release Sunday. Residents of Los Angeles County should continue to dial 911 if they see downed power lines, according to the press release.
“Over 8.5 billion gallons of water are available in three, open-air LADWP reservoirs and are being actively used by CALFIRE and LAFD to support their aerial attack,” the department said in a press release. “They will remain a critical part of the firefight and are fully available.”
