Power outage briefly affects Westwood residents

A power outage affected parts of Westwood on Sunday morning.

Residents on Strathmore Drive and Midvale Avenue and in university apartments on Glenrock Avenue reported power outages beginning around 10 a.m. Stop lights on Veteran Avenue also lost power as of 10:15 a.m.

The outage affected around 1,775 Westwood residents, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power website. Residents on Glenrock and Midvale avenues reported that their power had been restored around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Parts of Westwood also experienced power outages Thursday night following heavy rain.

LADWP did not respond in time to requests for comment on the outage or what time power would be restored.
