At 12:07 p.m, members of AFSCME Local 3299 marched from Gateway Plaza into Bruin Plaza, chanting, “Shut it down” and “Who’s got the power? We’ve got the power. What kind of power? Union power.” Demonstrators used noisemakers, metal pots, drums and a trumpet. Six demonstrators unfurled a banner from the Ackerman Union terrace that reads, “UCLA: #1 in TREATING WORKERS like SH*T.”
