UCPD received notice of a reported sexual battery that occurred at an off-campus residence Saturday.

The suspect allegedly touched the victim’s breasts and buttocks without their consent at around 12:40 p.m., according to a Tuesday UCPD Clery Timely Warning.

The suspect has been identified and the victim has not filed a report with UCPD as of Tuesday. UCLA’s Title IX office and the Office of Residential Life are responding to the incident by providing both parties with resources and informing them of their rights, according to the alert.

Richard Mejia, the Office of Campus and Community Safety’s director of emergency communications and information, said in an emailed statement that he cannot provide additional information about the people involved or where the incident took place.

UCPD shared safety information and resources in the alert, including the Community Service Officer Evening Escort Program, a free escort service that operates in Westwood from dusk until 1 a.m.

“UCPD shares these safety tips while recognizing that perpetrators, and not the victims or survivors, are solely responsible for their actions,” the alert said.
