Bruins Care performs musical numbers for charity

January 24, 2011 – Cross-dressing, high kicks, and plenty of vocal riffing. This past weekend marked the third year that Bruins Care has been putting together its musical revue for the UCLA community. [2:44]

Bruins Care will perform its yearly musical theater revue for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS today and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Northwest Campus Auditorium. The group will sing songs from “Singin’ in the Rain” and more contemporary musicals, such as “Legally Blonde.”

Performance troupe My Barbarian parodies political, social issues

Geometric shapes, hanging windows and doors that lead to nowhere linger in the shadows of the Hammer Museum's exhibit, "The Night Epi$ode." Los Angeles-based performance group My Barbarian put together the exhibit by finding inspiration in the supernatural to parody political and social issues through their video gallery exhibition. Founders of the Los Angeles-based performance group My Barbarian, Jade Gordon and UCLA alumni Malik Gaines and Alexandro Segade, will present a performance of “Death Panel Discussion,” parodying traditional panel discussions and the process of inclusion that artists face, today at the Hammer Museum.
