TFT department proves the show must go on by adapting to virtual learning for fall

The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television students never expected to direct, perform or act in a virtual space. Artists to present speeches in creative reimagining of FDR’s fireside chats

A retired presidential ship inspired artist Constance Hockaday to flip the script of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s fireside chats, just in time for the 2020 election. Students elevate and explain UCLA’s mental health resources via Instagram

A C-session class united two students in becoming mental wellness advocates. The Instagram account Mental Wellness Resources at UCLA was originally created for a final project in Sociology M148: “Sociology of Mental Illness.” Fourth-year students Leyla Barkhordar and Rachel Teo founded the page in August to combat the inaccessibility of resources amid remote learning. Student club holds dance workshops to raise funds for peers affected by COVID-19

When presented with the opportunity to fundraise for their peers through dance, Bruins were ready to rumba. Other universities’ initiatives for students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic inspired a group of UCLA students to found its own club, 1 Student at a Time, to address the financial needs of its peers.
