UCLA Life Sciences forms new committee to help students navigate core classes

A new committee will gather student feedback to improve the curriculum for core life science classes. Navi Sidhu, an undergraduate representative for Associated Students UCLA, said he created the Life Science Core Student Advisory and Communication Committee on May 29, with the approval of Dean of UCLA Life Sciences Victoria Sork, to increase collaboration between Life Sciences Core Education administrators and students. UCLA faculty, donors honor retired professor for notable research, leadership

Brian Copenhaver helped organize the first Fiat Lux courses to help students cope with the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Copenhaver, a distinguished professor of philosophy and history who retired in fall 2017, initiated the Fiat Lux Freshman Seminar Program in the two weeks between 9/11 and the beginning of the fall quarter in 2001.
