UCLA hosts three voting centers for March 5 primary election

This post was updated March 6 at 1:10 a.m. Voting centers opened on campus and around Westwood on Saturday for Tuesday’s primary election. The Hammer Museum, Tom Bradley International Hall and Ackerman Union served as polling centers accessible to students and community members looking to cast their vote on Proposition 1 and Measure HLA, and in a primary for presidential, United States Senate and local candidates. brvino seeks to foster healthy drinking culture, wine appreciation among students

Though alcohol on college campuses has a less-than-positive reputation, a new club is hoping to establish a thoughtful drinking culture at UCLA. brvino, UCLA’s undergraduate wine club, seeks to educate students on wine history and wine growing – or viticulture – to create a community of like-minded individuals interested in the diversity of the wine industry, according to the club’s official mission statement. Nilaya Kanuri appointed as new USAC facilities commissioner

The Undergraduate Students Association Council appointed Nilaya Kanuri as the new facilities commissioner during its Jan. 30 meeting. The Appointment Review Committee presented Kanuri to the council after deciding she was the best fit for the position of the three applicants, Internal Vice President Megan Law said. Read more...
