University housing residents experience bedbug, ant infestations upon move-in

This post was updated Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Students encountered bedbugs, ants and other cleanliness issues when they moved into university housing this year. Some residents in Hedrick Summit, Weyburn Terrace and Levering Heights have reported bedbugs, with students in Levering Terrace also discovering ant problems. Read more...

Volunteer Day provides opportunities to connect with LA community

This post was updated Oct. 3 at 11:40 p.m.  Around 2,000 UCLA community members participated in the 15th annual UCLA Volunteer Day on Saturday. Volunteers gathered at 46 sites on campus and around Los Angeles, including schools, parks and food banks, said Jeffrey Hwang, the UCLA Volunteer Center program coordinator, in an emailed statement. Enormous Activities Fair offers opportunities for Bruins to find communities

UCLA hosted the annual Enormous Activities Fair on Tuesday to help students learn more about clubs and student life on campus. Organized by UCLA Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement, more than 500 student organizations and school departments handed out information and spoke with interested students at booths in Wilson and Dickson Plazas to encourage them to join.
