The UCLA chapter of Circle K International recently won awards for club achievement and fundraising. The club received these awards at the 61st annual Circle K International Convention held in Toronto from June 22 to 26, said Juliana Deer, former administrative vice president of CKI and a rising fourth-year biology student. Civil engineering students will paddle in the waters of Marina del Rey in their self-built canoe this fall. Every year, the UCLA Concrete Canoe team designs and builds a canoe made of concrete and participates in regional and national concrete canoe competitions held by the American Society of Civil Engineers. UCLA will spend more than $3 million on renovating 11 classrooms this summer to accommodate an increase in enrollment for the 2016-2017 academic year.
