UCLA senior anticipates launch of first campus-built satellite

In 2017, Michael Anderson will watch the UCLA Mission Operations Center launch his satellite into space. Anderson, a fourth-year applied mathematics student, was the chief engineer for the Electron Losses and Fields Investigation CubeSat, or ELFIN, the first satellite built by UCLA students. Lecturers’ union, UC reach agreement regarding new employee contract

ASUCLA officials question need for new grocery store

Several Associated Students UCLA board members questioned the need for creating an on-campus student-run grocery store in a meeting Friday. The proposed grocery store, called the Student Food Co-op, would aim to provide fresh produce to students at a lower price than off-campus stores such as Trader Joe’s and Ralphs, said undergraduate student government President Heather Rosen. UCLA assistant sociology professor breaks new ground in Iranian studies
