Jewish Voice for Peace launches new chapter
Several Jewish students launched a new UCLA chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, an organization dedicated to stopping Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, this week. Students formed the new chapter after the Undergraduate Students Association Council voted down a controversial resolution in February calling for UCLA and the University of California to divest from companies that profit from the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Referendum for a cultural events fee to be on May ballot

ASUCLA representatives inform students about association
Student government officials hosted a meeting with an undergraduate representative from Associated Students UCLA in hopes of educating students about the association. Joel Ontiveros, an undergraduate representative on the ASUCLA Board of Directors and a fifth-year communication studies and world arts and cultures/dance student, introduced students to the basic functions and goals of ASUCLA at the event.
