Students show support for protesters occupying Taiwan’s legislature
Fears about the safety of her friends and former classmates demonstrating in Taiwan kept Ellen Hsieh from sleeping Thursday night. Hundreds of people began occupying Taiwan’s legislature in Taipei Tuesday evening to protest a trade agreement with China that some argue would give Beijing too much control over Taiwanese economy and politics.
