Bruins volunteer, support Los Angeles community amid wildfires

As wildfires swept across Los Angeles County, UCLA students volunteered to support recovery efforts. The fires – which have burned over 40,000 acres and displaced residents across the region – prompted urban and regional planning graduate student Alex Sun to step up as both a volunteer for distribution centers and a student of disaster management. UCPD arrests one person suspected for arson, possession of illegal weapon

This post was updated Jan. 20 at 11:35 p.m. UCPD arrested one person Thursday for adding leaves and brush to a fire on campus. Officers arrested the person at the Hilgard Bus Turnaround and discovered they had an illegal knife, according to a post on the department’s Instagram. Read more...

UCLA classes will return to in-person instruction Tuesday
