22-year-old UCLA alumnus Zuriel Oduwole nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

‘It’s unpredictable’: International Bruins react with concern to visa revocations

International students shared fears of academic repercussions and uncertainty following the revocation of student visas by the Trump administration. UCLA community leads protest following detainment of student at US-Mexico border

UCLA Faculty Association rallies to demand university response to visa revocations

Around 60 students, faculty and other community members attended a UCLA Faculty Association rally to protest against the Trump administration’s revocation of student visas. The Trump administration recently revoked the visas of at least 19 UCLA students and alumni, including some participating in the Optional Practical Training program. Read more...

Students who had visas revoked were previously arrested, USAC meeting reveals

This post was updated April 10 at 10:35 p.m. Minutes from a meeting between UCLA administrators and Undergraduate Students Association Council officers revealed that students whose visas were revoked had previously been arrested.  Nineteen students and alumni had their visas revoked as of Thursday, said USAC President Adam Tfayli.  The United States government revoked the visas of around 50 international students and alumni across the UC, according to a Tuesday statement from UC President Michael Drake. Federal judge sides with joint UCLA suit to block end to Venezuelans’ protections
