Legal experts speak on reproductive rights under Trump at UCLA Law event

A panel of legal experts warned that recent federal executive orders threaten reproductive and gender rights during a UCLA School of Law event March 6. Trump appoints Nicholas Kent to oversee universities as education undersecretary

President Donald Trump nominated Nicholas Kent as undersecretary of education, where, if approved by the Senate, he will oversee federal policies impacting colleges and universities. William Purdy, a professor of education and information studies at UCLA, said Kent’s nomination signals a shift from the Trump administration’s previous approach to education, with the new administration focusing increasingly on university settings. Over 1,000 people protest executive orders at Stand Up For Science rally Friday

This post was updated March 9 at 9:09 p.m. Over 1,000 people – including students and scientists – protested Trump administration executive orders related to science and health at a Stand Up For Science rally Friday.  Protesters gathered at noon at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Veteran Avenue to protest, hear speeches and write letters to government representatives.
