Vote to create new Westwood neighborhood council to be held May 22

Students and Westwood community members will be able to vote for a new neighborhood council May 22. Westwood Forward, a coalition of students, homeowners and business owners, submitted an application to create a new neighborhood council in December, arguing the current WWNC does not adequately represent students or address their concerns. Sydney Kamlager to represent Westwood as new state assembly member

Sydney Kamlager will be the representative for the state assembly district representing Westwood, following a special election Tuesday. Los Angeles County voters from parts of West Los Angeles, including Culver City, Inglewood, Baldwin Hills and Westwood, voted in Kamlager, a Democrat and president of the LA Community College District Board, as the next assembly member for District 54. BruinBus to add new stops, modify routes to improve service quality

BruinBus plans to change its routes and add additional stops starting April 16. BruinBus, a year-round bus service students and faculty can use to travel around campus and areas near UCLA, will operate two new routes in clockwise and counterclockwise loops, according to UCLA Transportation. Kopan Ramen expands to Westwood, serves up bold options for students

Neighborhood empowerment department approves vote for new Village council

City officials have approved an election for students and Westwood community members to create a new neighborhood council. Westwood Forward, a coalition of students and Westwood community members, submitted an application to subdivide the Westwood Neighborhood Council in December because they felt the current council did not adequately represent students or address their concerns. Westwood Neighborhood Council recap – March 14

The Westwood Neighborhood Council meets monthly to discuss issues pertaining to Westwood Village and the surrounding areas. Comments by public officials Jasmine Shamolian, a field representative for Councilmember Paul Koretz, said the Los Angeles Planning and Land Use Management Committee will soon vote to cap short-term rentals in Los Angeles at 180 days.
