Man sentenced to nine years in prison for multiple Westwood robberies
A man who has robbed six people in Westwood Village since September was sentenced Monday to nine years and four months in state prison. Dennis Toliver pleaded no contest to two counts of first degree robbery and robbery charges from previous arrest at a preliminary hearing at the Airport Courthouse Monday morning. Read more...

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to put a lid on Gayley location
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Gayley Avenue, one of Westwood Village’s many coffee shops, will close in June. Danny Hernandez, the store’s general manager, said the shop will close because of financial difficulties. Read more...

Metro Expo extension opens, connects downtown LA to Santa Monica
The Metro Expo Line extension opens Friday, allowing passengers to take the public rail to Santa Monica for the first time since the 1950s. The 15-mile line connects downtown to Santa Monica with a 45-minute ride. Read more...

Student aims high with medical marijuana delivery business
Medical marijuana was the only drug that improved Christian Kramme’s stomach pain after spending two years in and out of hospitals. Kramme, a second-year microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics student, believed he had pancreatic cancer when he began experiencing severe stomach pain and a lack of appetite in 2012.
