City council to vote on placement of bike lanes in Westwood Village

The Los Angeles City Council will vote Friday whether to move a planned bike lane from Westwood Boulevard to Gayley and Midvale avenues. The council’s transportation committee met Wednesday to discuss possible amendments to the Mobility Plan 2035, which would add hundreds of bike lanes, bus-only lanes and pedestrian improvements throughout the city. Westwood’s Broxton Avenue parking garage to upgrade facilities

UCPD investigating Phi Delta Theta fraternity house burglary

University police are investigating a Sunday morning burglary that occurred at a fraternity house on Gayley Avenue. A UCLA student told university police someone entered Phi Delta Theta fraternity on Gayley Avenue through an unsecured front door around midnight Sunday, according to a UCPD alert. Read more...

Margan Apartments to be rebuilt for expected increase in enrollment

A UCLA-owned apartment complex will be demolished and rebuilt over two years to almost triple the building’s current occupancy. The Margan Apartments, a seven-story, 39-unit apartment building on Levering Avenue will be rebuilt from July 2017 to 2019 to have 42 units and up to 10 stories, said Peter Angelis, assistant vice chancellor of Housing and Hospitality Services.
