Results announced for North Westwood Neighborhood Council’s first full-term election

NWWNC wastes over a thousand dollars in attempted business event

A local neighborhood council approved $1,015 in expenses at a special meeting Wednesday for an event that never happened. The North Westwood Neighborhood council first announced “Next Friday,” a monthly event intended to highlight businesses in Westwood, at its January meeting. Read more...

NWWNC has two weeks to approve grants for local organizations before election

North Westwood organizations have less than two weeks left to potentially receive a neighborhood purpose grant from the current council. Neighborhood purpose grants, which are grants given by neighborhood councils to benefit community organizations, can be issued in amounts up to $5,000 to eligible organizations, such as approved nonprofit organizations and public schools that lie within the boundaries of their respective councils.
