Health care policy is no place to mess around, especially when it applies to 43,000 students’ access to mental health resources. Effective this quarter, UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, will reduce the number of appointments available to students with the University of California Student Health Insurance Plan by 40 percent, from 10 visits to six. Editorial: BruinAlert should update UCLA community as situations progress
For the first time this quarter, the Office of Emergency Management successfully used BruinAlert to inform students of potential danger near campus. However, the BruinAlert sent to the student body Thursday regarding the alleged hostage situation on Tiverton Avenue came nearly an hour after the Daily Bruin had already confirmed and tweeted about the incident, and with little clarity.
