Letter to the editor: Alternative economic theory is taught at UCLA

I am writing in response to Ramsey Ugarte's column on April 8, in which he argues that alternative economic viewpoints (especially Austrian economic philosophy) should be taught in the classroom at UCLA. As a history graduate student and a teaching assistant, I have frequently encountered "alternative economic viewpoints" in the curricula here, and in my own seminars I have tried to include discussions about different economic models.
