Mixed bag from men’s tennis at first tournaments of the season

The Bruins finished their first tournaments of fall play with a range of results. UCLA men’s tennis sent redshirt sophomore Connor Rapp and sophomore Connor Hance to the UC Santa Barbara Classic last weekend, as well as freshmen Max Wild and Mathew Tsolakyan – who debuted for the Bruins. Football’s brittle defense buckles under pressure throughout first five games

The Bruins are trying to figure out their pass rush problem. UCLA football (0-5, 0-2 Pac-12) is tied for seventh in the conference in total sacks this season, and despite the Bruins recording a pair of sacks against Washington on Saturday, they still allowed Washington quarterback Jake Browning to run for 49 yards. See-saw game finally tilts in UCLA’s favor as women’s soccer cinches 2-0 win

The Bruins battled their way to a winning conference record. No. 15 UCLA women’s soccer (8-3-1, 3-2-0 Pac-12) triumphed over Arizona (8-4-1, 1-3-1) 2-0 in a back-and-forth game that remained scoreless until the 48th minute. Read more...

Men’s soccer wins fifth shutout game of season with victory over Oregon State

Women’s volleyball snags season’s first sweep, blocks Beaver victory

Michael Sealy said his team needed to serve tougher after getting dismissed in straight sets against Oregon. “When you serve tough, it’s usually not a great pass so they have to set higher which allows us to get two blockers up,” the coach said. Read more...
