Eye on the ball: A look into the challenges and perks as a ball kid on the tennis court

At the Farmers Classic, held at UCLA this past week, Azadegan worked as one of six ball kids, standing statuesque on the outskirts of the court, then scrambling after loose balls or holding umbrellas for resting players, among other tasks. Sam Querrey becomes fourth player to claim third Farmers Classic title

Sam Querrey extended his run at a place that feels like home to him, becoming the fourth player to win three titles at the tournament now known as the Farmers Classic. Sam Querrey, a professional tennis player from Thousand Oaks, won his third Farmers Classic title in the past four years Sunday afternoon, defeating Ricardas Berankis at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Former soccer goalkeeper Brian Rowe secures a spot on Los Angeles Galaxy

It was official: Rowe finally had a place to call home for the rest of the season after spending most of his first year out of college bouncing around from team to team. The Los Angeles Galaxy just signed former UCLA goalkeeper Brian Rowe. Rowe had been drafted by Chivas USA, but let go. Two of Galaxy’s three goalkeepers are alumni from UCLA.


Two former UCLA athletes awarded Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal

As a result of their combination of achievements, Camuso and Rose were awarded the Tom Hansen Conference Medal. The medal is awarded by the Pac-12 every year to the top senior male and female athletes of each institution based on "the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership." Read more...
