UCLA will likely win Gauntlet

UCLA has earned enough points to win the Lexus Gauntlet, and can mathematically clinch winning the Lexus Gauntlet as soon as Friday. The Lexus Gauntlet is a competition every year between UCLA and USC that awards a trophy to the athletic program which does better in head-to-head competition in 18 NCAA sports based on an agreed-upon formula. Baseball takes series at USC

These days, the Bruins are playing so well that they are winning more than just baseball games and series; they are winning yearlong competitions. This weekend at Dedeaux Field, the Bruins (18-16, 8-1 Pac-10) brought out the brooms, sweeping their crosstown rivals, the USC Trojans (19-18, 2-7 Pac-10). Read more...


Offense outdone in scrimmage

The football team had its first spring scrimmage on Saturday and the offense, trying to learn a new system, struggled against the experienced defense.
