M. Basketball: UCLA’s Fey establishes strong on-court presence

If Saturday was any indication, the UCLA men’s basketball team may have found itself a powerful inside presence for next season. Beleaguered center Michael Fey scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while leading his team, Hank’s Big Time, of the Nike Los Angeles College Pro-City League, to a 95-55 victory, showing a glimpse of the potential the Bruins saw in him when they recruited the redshirt junior nearly four years ago. Gymnastics: Bruin gymnast Richardson selected for Canadian Olympic team

The waiting game lasted all of 24 hours.  After junior UCLA gymnast Kate Richardson failed to secure herself an outright spot on this summer’s Canadian Olympic squad at the Olympic Team Trials held at Seneca College in Toronto this past weekend, Gymnastics Canada announced late Sunday night that Richardson was selected as the fifth member of the Canadian Olympic Team. One by one, many of 85 girls shot their hands up in the air, hoping UCLA women’s basketball coach Kathy Olivier would call on them.
