Veteran track and field athletes lead the way to NCAA West Regional

The field of competitors in Division I outdoor track and field has dwindled from thousands to the top 96 for each individual event. Of those 96 top athletes in each individual event, the top 48 in the East will compete in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., starting Thursday, while the top 48 in the West will travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the NCAA West Regional. Track and field seniors bring home Pac-12 multi-events honors

Tatum Souza could hardly contain her excitement moments after throwing her second shot put attempt during the Pac-12 track and field multi-events. On this particular throw, Souza stepped into the ring, collected herself and promptly uncorked the shot further than she had ever done in her track and field career with a lifetime best of 45-5.25.
