UCLA women’s basketball looks to bolster teamwork efforts

The women’s basketball team makes great individual plays, but that’s not enough for coach Cori Close. In Sunday’s 113-42 win over Vanguard, sophomore guard Jordin Canada had six steals and freshman forward Ashley Hearn had eight rebounds, but those individual efforts aren’t the only things Close is looking for. UCLA women’s basketball pummels Vanguard in season opener

The student section was largely barren during women’s basketball’s season-opening exhibition game against Vanguard Sunday afternoon at Pauley Pavilion. Students may have been studying for midterms, nursing Halloween hangovers or merely expecting a blowout, which, in retrospect, was a correct assumption as the UCLA women’s basketball team cruised to a 113-42 victory.
