UCPD is investigating an alleged aggravated assault that occurred on Gayley Avenue at 1:20 a.m. Friday morning.
A UCLA student reported being struck in the head by an object intentionally thrown at him on the 600 block of Gayley Avenue, according to a Saturday UCPD Clery Timely Warning alert.
UCPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
UCPD encouraged people to be aware of their surroundings, prioritize their safety and call 911 to report suspicious behavior in the alert.
UCPD also shared resources in the alert, including its community service officers escort program, which provides escorts to students, staff, faculty and visitors between campus buildings, the Hill or Westwood Village from dusk to 1:00 a.m.
“If you feel you are in danger, take action,” the alert stated. “Move away from the threat, cross the street, increase your pace, or run to safety.”
