Upcoming Metro projects set to improve UCLA commute times, curb Westwood traffic

Two upcoming Westwood public transit projects have the potential to reduce traffic at UCLA. The D Line Subway Extension Project will extend the subway line nine miles along Wilshire Boulevard and will include a Westwood/UCLA station, which is set to open in 2027. Read more...

LA Metro discusses costs of Sepulveda Transit Corridor alternatives at May meeting

Los Angeles Metro officials discussed preliminary costs and scheduling for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project at a May community meeting Thursday. The meeting, held at the Westwood United Methodist Church, included information stations about the different stages of the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project – a plan to expand accessible public transit from the San Fernando Valley to West LA through the Sepulveda Pass – as well as a presentation and Q&A session with LA Metro. Co-op residents defend rooster dropped off in nearby lot despite disturbances

For about a week, residents of the University Cooperative Housing Association didn’t need an alarm clock – they were roused by a rooster’s crowing. The rooster, who was deemed “Baraaack” – after former president Barack Obama – lived in a then-vacant lot near the co-op – a student-led, nonprofit housing space – from April 6 to April 14.
