Head injuries could cause serious mental illnesses by changing genes in the brain, UCLA researchers found in a recent study. The study found that people who have serious head injuries may develop the same genes associated with the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, Parkinson’s disease and other mental disorders. One of the sexual harassment reports released by the University of California on Tuesday involved a rape allegation against a UCLA employee. An undergraduate student, whose name was redacted in the report, alleged Tarundeep Sandhu, a former UCLA School of Dentistry employee, raped the student while she was intoxicated after going out to a bar together.
