DPO investigation finds that Milan Chatterjee violated UCLA policy
A UCLA investigation found that a former graduate student government president violated university policy during the 2015-2016 school year. The Discrimination Prevention Office, or DPO, completed an investigation June 29 that found former Graduate Students Association president Milan Chatterjee in violation of viewpoint neutrality in the GSA’s allocation of mandatory student fees. UC employee union petitions for implementation of overtime laws
A union representing University of California employees launched a petition asking the United States Congress to allow implementation of new overtime rules. The petition launched Thursday by United Auto Workers 5810, the union representing about 6,000 postdoctoral scholars across the UC, garnered about 1,000 signatures during the first day it was released, said Jacob Burstein-Stern, union spokesperson. UCLA explores remote control lock system for classroom doors
UCLA officials are looking to install a system that would lock classroom doors remotely, following last month’s murder-suicide. A committee will decide between different lock systems that would allow officials to lock doors from a central location in case of an emergency, said Art Kirkland, director of the Office of Emergency Management.
