UCLA researchers develop personalized medicine to treat cancer

A set of algorithms and graphs developed by UCLA researchers could help clinicians determine how much medicine a cancer patient needs to maximize tumor shrinkage. Doctors, professors and graduate students at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center began to devise an individualized method of treatment called phenotypic personalized medicine, or PPM, about 15 months ago that tailors drug dosages to specific patients. Israeli and U.S. veterans share experiences in ‘Night of Unity’ panel

New graduate class built around Westwood urban planning

A new graduate class will study Westwood Village’s urban planning and propose potential improvements to the neighborhood’s specific plan. Architect John Kaliski’s class at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs will explore the existing Westwood Village Specific Plan, which regulates land use and development design criteria in the Village, and prepare recommendations for the Westwood Village Improvement Association, also known as the BID.
