UCLA mathematics professor Terence Tao awarded 2014 Royal Medal

Terence Tao, a UCLA mathematics professor, will receive the 2014 Royal Medal for physical sciences in December, according to a UCLA statement released on Wednesday. The Royal Society of London, the oldest science academy in continuous existence, will present the 39 year-old with the prize for his many contributions to math, including those in harmonic analysis, prime number theory and computer science, according to the Royal Society website.
