Student coalition helps to register 1,500 voters

Though the student coalition heading “UCLA Vote 2003″ registered 15 percent of their original 10,000 student goal, many believe their efforts were a success. Council supports same-sex marriage The undergraduate student government passed a resolution in support of same-sex marriage at its meeting Tuesday night. The resolution states that “(the Undergraduate Students Association Council) shall vigorously support legislation that benefits the (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community.” Internal Vice President Allende Palma Saracho said USAC passed the resolution because the ability to “express one’s love for one another should not be questioned.” The resolution was passed two weeks before UCLA’s National Coming Out Week 2003 Celebration.
