Panelists discuss sustainable policies to alleviate climate change effects in LA

Customizable calculator app created to revolutionize math classrooms
A UCLA alumnus hopes to replace high-tech calculators costing up to hundreds of dollars with a new mobile application. Daniel Haiem, who graduated in 2016, created ClassCalc, a free app that has the functionality of both a graphing and scientific calculator. Read more...

UCLA professor files lawsuit against UC for withholding admissions information
A UCLA law professor filed a lawsuit against the University of California for failing to disclose admissions data beginning in 2007. Richard Sander, one of the petitioners and an affirmative action law scholar, alleged in the suit and in his research the UC has illegally factored race in admissions decisions. Read more...

CAPS, engineering school team up to provide tailored counseling
This post was updated Dec. 10 at 2:24 p.m. UCLA now provides specialized counseling for engineering students. Counseling and Psychological Services collaborated with the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science this quarter to provide biweekly drop-in counseling sessions for engineering students as part of the CAPS satellite clinic at the school of engineering.
