UC graduate student leaders form independent advocacy group

University of California graduate and professional student leaders created a new group to better advocate for graduate student interests at a meeting last week. At the UC Graduate and Professional Summit, which lasted from July 28 to July 31, representatives from 10 campus graduate student associations passed a resolution creating the UC Graduate-Professional Coalition. Hire UCLA Ambassadors working to make career resources more accessible

A team of students is working to inform UCLA students of internship opportunities. The UCLA Career Center created the Hire UCLA Ambassadors program in the spring to better provide students with access to internship opportunities as well as the skills necessary to get them. Read more...

UCLA adds Nordic studies, Asian languages and linguistics majors

Students can choose from two new undergraduate degree programs starting this fall. UCLA’s two newest majors are Nordic studies and Asian languages and linguistics. The Scandinavian section and the department of Asian languages and cultures created the new majors to broaden their respective departments’ curricula and attract more students to the departments.
