Students from historically black colleges and universities are gaining research experience through a University of California summer research program. The UC Office of the President launched the UC-Historically Black Colleges and Universities, which funds research projects that are open to undergraduate and master’s degree students from HBCUs, said Anne Dela Cruz, diversity, inclusion and admissions director of UCLA graduate division. Sushi chefs swiftly rolled rice, fish and seaweed in front of dozens of new customers who visited a restaurant when it opened Tuesday.
