Student government officials left 20 out of 21 undergraduate student representative positions in the Academic Senate unfilled for half the academic school year. UCPD hosts Coffee with a Cop to facilitate dialogue with the Westwood community
University police and Westwood community members said they wanted to create a more open dialogue with each other at an event Thursday. Coffee with a Cop, hosted by university police and Starbucks, provided the Westwood community with a chance to talk to police officers outside of law enforcement situations over coffee and donuts. Student group seeks end of standardized testing in college admissions
Students said they think standardized testing should not be a factor in the college admissions process at a town hall Wednesday. The town hall was hosted by Beyond the Score, a group of students who aim to raise awareness about the potential drawbacks of using standardized test scores to determine a student’s eligibility for college. Students voice concerns over poor, inaccessible condition of Westwood sidewalks
Students said they think sidewalks in Westwood are not being repaired enough. Sidewalks in Westwood are reconstructed as soon as funds are available, said Andrew Thomas, executive director of the Westwood Village Improvement Association. Read more...
