UCLA school of engineering receives $5M for computer network research center

The UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science received a $5 million grant to establish a new computer networking research center. Sunday Group Inc., a Las Vegas-based software company, donated the money in honor of Leonard Kleinrock, who is considered one of the fathers of the internet, to create the UCLA Connection Lab. Communication department manager Jane Bitar receives chancellor’s award, retires after 37 years

Nour Dabboussi said that Jane Bitar was a bubble of happiness and someone students could always run to for help. Bitar, former manager of the department of communication, retired this June after working at UCLA for 37 years. Read more...

UC Regents recap – July 18-19
